About
My name is Claudia and I'm going to tell you about my passion, or rather my passions, because I have several: Polymer clay and micro-macrame.
But first I'm going to tell you a little about myself and how I got into this.
I was born and raised in Austria, where I still have my family and where I go regularly for vacations. I attended hotel school there and at the age of 20 I left my country to discover the world. I first went to England, more precisely to London, where I worked as a waitress. I then had the opportunity to go and work as a waitress and then a bartender on cruise ships in the Caribbean and of course I didn't hesitate for a second. What an adventure! It was there that I met my husband. He was also a great traveler and when I had our daughter we decided to continue traveling the world as part of his job. We first went to Corsica, then Guadeloupe, Gabon, where I had our son, the Seychelles, Nigeria and finally Martinique before returning to France where we took over a restaurant in Andlau for more than thirteen years.
I have always loved crafts. Knitting, crochet, sewing, building furniture from pallets, making decorative objects from copper wire, etc. hold no secrets for me.
I like experimenting with new techniques, creating, finding solutions to technical problems. All this ultimately led me to polymer clay. To be completely honest, it was thanks to my daughter Laeticia, who gave me a box of polymer clay for Christmas, that I got into it. I immediately loved the freedom that this material offered me. The colors, the shapes, the possibilities are endless.
After a while I tried to make my necklaces a little more exclusive by finding another way for the clasps and for the assembly. And there I had the revelation of micro-macramé! From now on I make the chains and sliding clasps myself.
Self-taught, I drew a lot of inspiration from the internet to learn the basic techniques that I now apply in my own way.
I love colors, inspired by African fabrics, land where I was lucky enough to live for a few years. Each piece is unique and results from the inspiration of the moment.
